DIN project status update for Jan 2025

Status update for DIN

2024 was a big year for DIN, a lot of momentum, a lot of preproduction done, and for those of us on the team in Tokyo we had our first in-person meetup.  End of the year things slowed down a bit with the Christmas season as the usually do, we're set to rebuild our momentum in February with layout - there's roughly 96 shots to layout and then onto animation.

Every asset on the project has been rigged with the exception of the woman which is currently in progress - the original character designer has given her notes and I'm finessing the model for the last 10%

Reiko has been kind enough to begin work on UV unwrapping our hero assets

And Jaime has been plugging away with the dragon rigging

By our own count our assets are ready and all that's left after a bit of UVing is layout - which can begin even without a full unwrap, since we're keeping things kind of loose.

With a bit of dedication we should be onto animation by the end of February.  Thank you to the DIN team and to anyone else who's interested enough to keep tabs on our next film!
